FAQs Installing an EV home charger

Do I need an electrician to install a home EV charger?

A licensed electrician is required to install a level 2 home EV charger. They will ensure proper installation, compliance with local codes, and safe operation.

How much does it cost to install an EV home charger?

Installation costs vary based on several factors, such as the electrical supply to your home, the distance between the desired charger location and electrical switchboard, and the type of charger being installed. We are happy to provide you with a quote for installation through our charger compatibility check tool.

Do I need to be home for the installation?

Yes, its best that you are home. Our installation team will explain the process of installation to you before commencing any work. There may be a need to cut power to your home temporarily and our installers will ensure this is done at a convenient time.

Should I get my charger installed before my vehicle arrives

We recommend you get your charger installed after your vehicle arrives, this gives our installers an opportunity to show you how to use the charger and demonstrate the full functionality with your vehicle present. We can also install prior to your vehicle arriving if this is your preference.
