Accessibility for drivers of Electric Vehicles (EVs) is getting a big boost!
EV charging stations will open at AMP Capital’s centres nationwide. Charging sites will be installed across NSW, QLD, VIC, WA and NZ, with stations already open at Macquarie, Randwick, Marrickville Metro, Dapto, and Stud Park. The remaining installations at AMP Capital Centres are expected to be completed by July 2022.
In stage one of the rollout, we’ll deliver a network expansion across 16 shopping centres, installing two charging bays per site with the ability for us to scale up in the future as demand for EVs continues to grow. Visitors can locate the charging stations via the Evie Charging app, make payments and view their complete charge history.
The partnership with AMP Capital flourished from our mutual focus on community, customer convenience, and enabling a sustainable energy future. It also recognises the importance of providing public charging solutions to support the increasing demand for accessible, everyday charging.
Evie Networks CEO Chris Mills said, “Making fast-charging a seamless part of customers’ shopping experiences will help advance our mission to accelerate the adoption of EVs in Australia. If we want to move towards a cleaner transport future, people need to be confident that they can travel with the knowledge they can charge whenever and wherever they need.”
Evie Networks is backed by the St Baker Energy Innovation Fund’s commitment of $100 million, which is accompanied by a $23.85 million grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency.
