Driving is all about the journey – whether it’s a quick trip to the shops or doing the big lap. What matters most is getting to your destination with ease and confidence. If you drive a petrol car today, you can confidently leave home knowing you can get anywhere in the country without too much thought. But what if you drive an electric vehicle (EV)? Is finding a charging station as easy as filling up with petrol?
Driving an EV isn’t that different. If you’re fortunate enough to have a home charging station, you can start your journey with a fully charged battery. However, even if you don’t have access to home charging or you’re embarking on a longer trip, you can rest assured that Evie has your back with a network of public fast-charging sites. So, how does one find Evie charging sites?
Navigating with Google Maps
Locating Evie’s charging stations is easy, thanks to the power of modern digital tools. 57% of Australians use Google Maps to find and navigate the world around them, and our charging locations seamlessly integrate with Google Maps, making it a breeze to pinpoint all our public charging sites. But it doesn’t stop there; we also provide live availability data to Google Maps, allowing you to check how many charging bays are available in real-time. With many new vehicle models, like those from Volvo and Polestar, now having Google Maps integrated into their dashboards, you can rest assured that Evie’s live site information is right there. The car can route your journeys with this information, telling you where, when, and how long to charge for the optimum journey.
The Evie Charging App
Google Maps isn’t the only place to find information about our sites. The Evie Charging app is the hub for all things charging. The map provides a rich view of the entire Evie Network. Live site information is there, of course, but you can also find notifications about site maintenance and other important information. Naturally, you can also use the app to manage your Evie account, pay, start a charge, and see real-time charging progress.
Finding charging should be a straightforward and hassle-free process, and we’re committed to making it just that! With our fast-growing network of charging stations and a commitment to improving the maps experience, we want to make charging so simple that you don’t have to think about it; but if you do, you think about Evie.
