Find A Charger

How fast is the charging speed at Evie stations for KIA vehicles?

The charging speed of your vehicle depends on a few factors, including your vehicle’s current state of charge, battery size and temperature, as well as the type of charger you use. When you connect to one of Evie’s Kia’s car chargers, it will automatically estimate the time to fully charge your battery, taking into account all vehicle and environmental factors.

Here are some average charging speeds based on the types of stations most commonly used by Kia owners:

AC Chargers (Power Output: 3.6–22 kW)

Generally used for charging Kias at home, workplaces and shopping centres: full charge in approximately 4-12+ hours

DC Fast Chargers (Power Output: 50-75 kW)

Public stations and highways: from 10% to 80% charge in 60-90 minutes

DC Ultra-Fast Chargers (Power Output:  150–350+ kW)

Major highways and urban centres: from 10% to 80% charge in 15-30 minutes

why choose Evie networks for KIA EV Charging?

CHARGING COSTS FOR KIA OWNERS

Wondering how much it costs to use Kia electric car charging at an Evie charging station? It’s simple!

Cost = Charging Rate x kWh Delivered.

For example, if the station for your Kia charging costs 0.64/kWh and the vehicle needs 40 kWh to recharge, the cost of the completed charge will be ($0.64 x 40) $25.60.

Keep in mind that pricing can vary depending on the charger type.  For example, a 150kW ultra-fast charger in Melbourne could cost up to$0.73 per kWh, whereas a 50kW charger in Melbourne could cost up to $0.64 per kWh.

For the most accurate and up-to-date pricing information, check your Evie app. The cost per kWh is displayed beneath the connector type on each charger.

Your Questions About EVIE’s KIA-compatible chargers Answered

Which Kia EVs can be charged at Evie stations?

Good news! All Evie fast chargers are compatible with Kia EVs at any one of over 300 charging stations across Australia. We use CCS2 (Combined Charging System Type 2) connectors for easy, fast charging and CHAdeMO connectors to provide another option for the Soul and Niro EVs.

How can I find Kia-compatible charging stations near me?

Look up your nearest Evie charging station on the Evie website or use the Evie app. Apple and Google maps also show Evie charger locations. Every Evie charging station works for Kia EVs, so search your closest station without even having to switch apps!

What is the charging speed at Evie stations for Kia vehicles?

The charging speed of your Kia depends on a few things, like the battery size, its current level of charge and the charger type you’re using. If you’re after a specific power output, you can use the Evie app to filter by maximum charger speed (e.g. 100–150 kW chargers). Once you select an Evie charger and plug in, your Kia vehicle will automatically estimate how long it’ll take to reach a full charge, taking into account vehicle and environmental factors.

Here are some average charging speeds based on the types of stations most commonly used by Kia EV owners:

  • AC Chargers (Power Output: 3.6–22 kW): Generally used for charging at home, workplaces and shopping centres: full charge in approximately 7-11+ hours
  • DC Fast Chargers (Power Output: 50-75 kW): Public stations, generally found at shopping centres and council car parks: from 10% to 80% charge in 60-75 minutes.
  • DC Ultra-Fast Chargers (Power Output: 150–350+ kW): Major highways and urban centres: from 10% to 80% charge in 18-30 minutes.

Are there any special adapters needed to charge my Kia?

Nope! Every Kia car charger uses the exact same CCS2 connector plug provided at every Evie charging station Australia-wide. The CCS2 is the industry standard and allows fast and ultra-fast charging wherever available.

What are the charging costs for my Kia at Evie stations?

The cost per kW is displayed in the Evie app so you can work out what you’ll pay for each charging session. Charging cost is calculated by multiplying the rate of charge by the kW’s delivered, and prices vary depending on location, charger type, and energy costs. For example:

  • 10% to 80% on a fast charger might require 40kW of power. If your charger costs $0.64/kW, the total cost will be (40 x $0.64) = $25.60.

Do I need a membership to use Evie Chargers?

Yes, do need to need to create an account to use Evie chargers. It’s super easy to do, simply download the Evie app, set up your account and you’re good to go. You’ll also get access to a whole host of special offers, which you can find out more info on here.
