How fast is the charging speed for BYD vehicles at Evie stations?
The charging speed of your vehicle depends on a few things, like your BYD’s battery size, its current charge level and the charger type. But don’t worry, when you plug in at one of Evie’s BYD chargers, it’ll automatically estimate how long it’ll take to get a full charge, taking into account all your vehicle and environmental factors.
Here are some average charging speeds based on the types of stations most commonly used by BYD EV owners:
AC Chargers (Power Output: 3.6–22 kW)
Generally used for charging at home, workplaces and shopping centres: full charge in approximately 4-12+ hours
DC Fast Chargers (Power Output: 50 kW)
Public stations, highways: from 10% to 80% charge in 60-90 minutes
DC Ultra-Fast Chargers (Power Output: 150–350+ kW)
Major highways and urban centres: from 10% to 80% charge in 15-30 minutes
Charging Costs for BYD Owners
Wondering about how much it costs to use an Evie station for your BYD EV charging needs? It’s simple!
Cost = Charging Rate x kWh Delivered.
For example, if the station for your BYD charger costs 0.64/kWh and the vehicle needs 40kWh to recharge, the cost of the completed charge will be ($0.64 x 40) $25.60.
Keep in mind that pricing can vary depending on the location and charger type. For the most accurate and up-to-date pricing information, check your Evie app before plugging in.

What is the cost of charging my BYD at an Evie station?
Using Evie’s BYD EV charger to recharge your battery from 20-80% it’ll typically cost:
- Approximately $15-$28 on a fast charging station (50-75kW)
- Approximately $25-$45 on an ultra fast charger (150-350kW).
Of course, the total cost depends on your car’s battery size, temperature, and other factors. As an example, a BYD Atto3 supports fast charging up to 88kWh. Even though the Atto 3 is compatible with an 184kwh ultra fast connector, it will only charge at its maximum capacity.
On a 50kWh DC fast charging station which costs $0.60 per kW, the recharge fee for the Atto 3 would total around $15-$28. An ultra fast charger would cost between $25-$45 but would not be significantly faster on this model of car.
By contrast, a BYD Seal has a higher charging capacity (between 110-150kWh). A recharge from 20% to 80% on an ultra fast Evie connector could take under 30 minutes with this model and cost around $34.
